About me:
From the bustling streets of Jakarta to a quaint village near Rotterdam, my journey began with a spark of wanderlust that would shape my entire life before I could even walk.
As a Journalism & Communication graduate, I transformed my passion for storytelling into a remarkable career. My four-year journey traveling without spending a dime became the bestselling book “Letmestayforaday,” while my travel narratives found homes in prestigious publications like The British Sunday Times Travel Magazine and Travel Channel’s WorldHum. I even shared my adventures on Dutch Radio 1 as a travel show host.
My entrepreneurial path has been anything but conventional. From running a pub (where I learned that the customer isn’t always right, but they’re always interesting) to managing art-house cinemas in Cambodia, upgrading hospitality businesses in Sri Lanka, and now leading expeditions up Kilimanjaro (where I’ve mastered the art of motivational speeches at 19,000 feet), I’ve dedicated myself to creating extraordinary experiences for others.
This global perspective was shaped by living in the USA, Cambodia, Georgia, Morocco, and now Portugal. This nomadic lifestyle has given me both the outsider’s curiosity and the insider’s knowledge that proves invaluable in understanding diverse client needs.
Known as the “Godfather of Couchsurfing,” I pioneered digital nomadism through “Letmestayforaday.com” – creating a social network for free travel before Facebook or Couchsurfing existed. This innovative spirit, combined with my expertise in business consulting, social media pioneering, translation work, writing and publishing, makes me uniquely qualified to tackle complex challenges and turn them into opportunities.
When I’m not helping clients succeed in Lisbon, you’ll find me attempting stand-up comedy (still working on that career backup plan), critiquing films (yes, I’m that friend who can’t just enjoy a movie), or at the gym – because someone needs to balance out all those pastéis de nata. Life is best lived in full color, even if sometimes that color is the red of my face after walking up and down all of Lisbon’s 7,293 hills.
